Painted Together

This is probably the oldest post pending. But here it is now!

Sucker and I painted together on Valentine’s Day at The Artppies. I thought doing something different together is better than blowing money on expensive romantic food and gifts. So with Eco-Taleban’s encouragement, I booked an art jam session with Yoshi, the owner. Needless to say, Sucker was resistant and kept saying that he doesn’t know how to paint etc. *grin*

Yoshi is a very patient and helpful teacher. She suggested for us to paint dogs after finding out what we both like. She also taught us how to start and paint; while Eco lurked around, snapping photos and serving us drinks and titbits. We both liked the atmosphere there. At first, we were (ok, at least I was) actually quite stressed because we wanted to paint a perfect picture. Yoshi was quick to notice that and kept reminding us to relax. Although we enjoyed the session, we didn’t manage to finish our paintings…

Drawing on canvas, bickering on whose drawing is nicer *hehe*, discussing which colour and what brush to use, the samples that we base our paintings on

We came back one month later to complete our paintings. NOT because we were lazy though. Yoshi’s weekend sessions are always filled up with kids parties etc! (So my friends, contact her quick if you are interested to attend a session!). This time round, we enjoyed ourselves better because there’s only Yoshi and Eco. We painted, chatted like old friends while listening to some techno musics. We left the studio feeling totally happy and proud!

Our paintings took two sessions to finish because we were slow and kept peeping at other painters!

Take a look also at the environment (image below)! Tons of colours, mediums and brushes for you to choose from! Yoshi has a coffee machine that makes the most fragrant coffee and I love the espresso! For non-coffee drinkers, there are all sorts of teas and titbits.

Valentine’s Day Idea 2: Paint Together

Won’t it be fun if you and your loved one can paint something together? It will be a moment of joy. Imagine the fun and laughter when you poke fun at each other’s drawings.

(Click on image for full details)

The Artppies is providing such opportunity for couples to cultivate this interest and joy together. Sucker and I are attending this Saturday’s Love Jam. Haha. Since both of us will have a canvas each, we thought of this concept where our canvas will look as one when joined (if we intend to hang them together), yet can also exist by itself (in case I think his is too ugly to be combined with mine, wahahaha~).

The Artppies also has a Facebook group. You can check out the paintings gallery as well.

No worries, people who have no basics/talent/experience in painting are in good hands. The owner is very helpful and provide guidance along.

Psst… Recommended for those who want to improve their patience. =P

Valentine’s Day Idea 1: 52 Things I Love About You

Instead of burning a BIG hole in your pocket, why not spend time to create something unique for your loved ones?

Buy a deck of cards, make a “book cover”, punch holes in them, bind them with a ring binder, write in 52 things you love about him/her. The message can be sweet, wacky, funny, crappy, anything! You can even up the fun by preparing two decks (one for you, one for your partner) and write about each other! Be creative, use colourful papers, stickers, cut out letters/words/graphics from magazines etc.

It will be a memorable thing to last a long time. =)

Psst… Recommended highly for those who like to gamble. *grin*

Creamous.com

I’m amused when I saw the link on MSN. I clicked, saw the 3 figurines. I love black the most. And the bags! They look like they are hand sewn.

The Littles - Creamous.com

These toys are handmade by my art director. The bags are also hand sewn by him! His inspiration comes from lightning, hence the sharp hair. He likes to fuse fashion accessories with toys, hence each figurine has its own signature matching bag.

I am really fortunate to meet talented and passionate people all the time. They are my source of motivation, and they make me believe that as long as I put my heart into what I love, I can create.

Presenting to you - Creamous.com - a toy brand in the making.

Oh, and I forgot one thing, you can download the whole set of stock photos of his creation. I can’t afford to buy, so I will have to be satisfied with the photos. *grin* (I’ve used the black one as my work MSN display picture! Hehe!)

And if you are interested to buy, do hurry, because he is only making 3 units for each design! And he already got orders from overseas!
