DND! (and photos!) March 31
Flashback:
Nersun Dorma
17th March 2006. 7pm. Hilton Hotel.
It was 6pm. And I was still in Hollywood Secrets getting my make-up and hair done. How I wished the hairdresser could make it faster! It was frantic after that. Trotting as fast as I could in my heels (almost running to be exact) along with my girlfriends, we flagged down a cab and asked to go to Hilton. It was a Friday night, and Orchard Road was just full of people and CARS! We were stuck in the traffic jam for about 20mins. Trust me, when you are in a hurry, 20mins is a LONG time! Sms-es and phone calls kept coming, reminding us that we were late for DND. And not donned in the DND gown didn’t help to make the situation better either!
When we reached Hilton, the first thing to do was to run towards the ladies to change into our sparkling gowns. We were late although we still managed to eat the first dish. (phew!)
Programs started with:
(1) mock-F4 (Kek, Sid, Kwa and Hesh) singing ‘Liu Xing Yu’ - totally hillarious but a bit boring as the song dragged on.
(2) Pageants - not much comments here, it’s the same every year just that this year was better with Eric and Hesh as emcees.
(3) JCRC spoof - hillarious only to those who know about hall. It was entertaining enough for those who don’t. Sid singing, Neeti with her Indian accent, Hesh acting as Shak. I didn’t know my batch was so… talented. Haha.
(4) CYMI spoof - disastrous for me as I was the one starting to spoof Erwin and Mira with JW. Although the Jonathan-spoof, Lady Marmalade-spoof and Dino-spoof were good, they were nothing compared to Kwa spoofing JieXiao on stage! Imagine JieXiao’s moves, hiphop tease with ‘char siew pau’! (P/s: If anyone of you need the video, can approach me anytime! =P)
(5) Slam song - a bit haphazard as we changed singers at the last minute. But the lyrics were good! (Contact me, song and lyrics provided!)
(6) BackTweet Boyz - check the photo I posted. Enough said.
(7) Final Year song - nothing much, just a bunch of drunkards shouting and dancing along.
It was a glamorous night. Costumes, make-up, hair-do, cameras flashing here and there. And I was at my prettiest! *grin*
A memorable night for me definitely, because it marked my last event in hall. A lot of the juniors were touched by our performance and the unity we displayed on that night. It was such rare occassion for all of us came together to put up a series of entertaining performances!
