Dream Job

Landing your dream job requires a mix of skills: diligence, hard work, experience, enterprise, good fortune, networking and the ability to work as a team player.
from HOW Magazine

I think good fortune definitely plays a big part in landing your dream job. Of course, I can’t deny that determination and hard work are core factors too (just look at onnchai!) *grin*

Jacky Cheung!

It was MIND-BLOWING! Simply FASCINATING! Superbly MESMERIZING! So INDESCRIBABLE!

Such was my experience with Jacky Cheung’s World Tour Concert.

Strictly speaking, I’ve attended concerts twice. The first was Westlife during my JC time. Some crazy thing I did for my sister, spent money to “supposedly” watch the concert for her. Smuggled camera in and took a lot of photos, which were developed and now collecting dust at home…

Anyway, back to this concert. Sucker and I reached Indoor Stadium about half an hour early. The crowd was not big then. But we could see the people who came are generally mature. No teenagers, no crazily dressed fans. I was a fan since primary school, so you can roughly guess how long Jacky Cheung has been singing!

The Jacky Cheung World Tour signage was displayed, with racks and racks of lightings. In the center of the stage was a flight of stairs. The bands were at the left and right of the stairs. There was a huge screen at the background.

We saw super a lot of people bringing in cameras and snapping away happily. I was a bit angry with myself because I AM the one who follow rules and I regretted. Was super tempted to pass my namecard to someone so that I could get hold of those nicely taken photos. So sad that we had to resort to handphone cameras!

The whole concert was good because I know how to sing most of his songs (Sucker could only sing along to 吻别, 每天愛你多一些 and 朋友). Jacky Cheung was good in engaging with his audience. He joked and shared his stories with us. Sucker was so happy that he spoke in Cantonese! Haha. And I discovered that he has the SAME birth date as Sucker! (Come on, follow me and gasp together!) I was so surprised that I called mum. She laughed and asked me to see Sucker as Jacky Cheung, which (everyone knows) is impossible! Haha.

He also showcased a short musical where he combined Snow.Wolf.Lake and Perhaps Love songs. How I wish he will run Snow.Wolf.Lake again!

Ah~~~ How I wish I can take a photo with him, see him at close distance (50m is not close enough!) and hug him! Or maybe I should go back to KL to watch his concert! Or Hong Kong (I think I need to be in Hong Kong Coliseum once)! Haha.

Jacky, jacky!

Below are more (lousy) photos, just to show a variety of the concert lightings.

Happy Birthday~~~

Let me write something here first before it goes to 11 July. Important person to me you know. *keke*

My Cup of Tea

This is a post that I wanted to post long long time ago. I first read it from here and I find it very meaningful, more like a life philosophy. Something that I should remind myself everytime I face challenges. I’ve since copied the article down and kept it on my desktop. Today, I just feel like sharing it with my friends.

Hope you will find it inspiring like I do…

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed Oolong tea. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl.

Then she ladled the Oolong out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me what you see.”

“Carrots, eggs, and Oolong tea,” she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the Oolong. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma The daughter then asked, “What does it mean, mother?”

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The Oolong tea was unique, however. After they were in the boiling water , they had changed the water color and taste.

“Which are you?” she asked her daughter. “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a Oolong tea?

And quoted from Kit Siang’s words,

The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can’t go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

May all of us be Oolong tea!

(While I’m at deviantart searching for the suitable tea cup image, I have stumbled upon a few nice still images of tea cups.)
